This module is part of the Graduate Certificate in Child Art Psychotherapy for Paediatric and Child Psychiatry trainees. Trainees who are in placement in a paediatric setting or in a child and adolescent mental health setting will be provided with training and supervision so that they can offer some basic child art psychotherapy sessions in their workplace, if suitable cases can be identified in conjunction with the trainee's supervising consultant.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this module the student will
(1) have an improved ability to listen to children and communicate with children
(2) be able to incorporate Child Art Psychotherapy techniques in their paediatric or child psychiatry practice, in accordance with the theories of Child Art Psychotherapy
(3) be able to apply their knowledge and understanding of Child Art Psychotherapy to their paediatric or psychiatry practice

Indicative Module Content:

Trainee will provide some child art psychotherapy sessions in their workplace, or will use art as a tool to aid communication with a young person.
