MDCS42630 Supervision CAP Clin Practice

Academic Year 2024/2025

This year two module is a continuance of the previous year and is part of the Child Art Psychotherapy Programme. The Supervision modules run throughout the duration of training, along side the Clinical Placement modules, and are designed to support students in their clinical Child Art Psychotherapy practice. This module comprises method-specific supervision, in both individual, and small group contexts. Students engage in individual supervision approximately fortnightly, and attend semi-regular small group supervision. Small groups typically consist of 5 - 6 students to one supervisor. In supervision, students present their clinical practice material and engage with peers and the supervisor in a way that supports their continuing development of professional practice and reflective skills. The course supervisors are accredited with ICP (or equivalent) and have experience working with children. Supervision is conducted at the teaching centre.
100% attendance is expected, but 80% attendance is the minimum attendance required to achieve credit for the
module. Absences must be discussed with the module coordinator or course lecturers, who will require supporting
documentation (e.g. medical certificates). Students who miss part of the module may be asked to do a further piece
of work in remediation.
