Clinical placement for Child Art Psychotherapy students in year 4 is carried out in the same setting as in year 3, if possible. For this module students engage with a clinical placement in an approved setting working to maintain a caseload of 6 clients per week. Examples of clinical placements include Tusla and post-primary school settings; other contexts may be arranged and are subject to Steering Committee approval. This clinical placement builds upon students’ clinical experience from years 1, 2 and 3 while increasing the caseload from 3 to 6 clients. Students are expected to attend placement 2 days per week and attend regular (i.e. fortnightly) case management supervision with an area manager or other senior team member.

This module is closely linked with the Supervision 4 module which support the student’s clinical practice and development.
