Indicative Module Content:

This module will inform students of the requirements of the PhD programme in the UCD School of Medicine. Students will learn about other research that is ongoing in the School. Communication workshops will focus on how to write an abstract for both scientific and lay audiences and explain the importance of abstracts and their potential impact. Students will learn about research that their peers in the School are doing and the methods that they are using and will reflect on how their own research could be improved by collaborating with others. Students will attend journal clubs and learn how to review a scientific paper and discuss it's merits and limitations. They will learn about the importance of integrity and ethics in research.
