Academic Year 2024/2025
This module is suitable for those in year 2 or above of of a graduate research degree. It is not suitable for those in year 1.

Students will participate in both a leading International research conference relevant to their field of study and a national scientific conference*. This will provide exposure to leading edge research in their field and opportunity to network with leading scientists. In addition students will present their work and get valuable feedback on how competitive/ interesting their work is to others working in the same or related fields.

*National meetings can include the Conway Festival of Research, MMI Annual Scientific Meeting etc

For assessment students must Provide evidence of acceptance of abstract for presentation in either poster or oral format at national and international meeting relevant to your research, evidence of attendance at meeting, keep a log of events attended at the meeting.
Write reflective piece (1000 words) after both the international and national conference on what you learned from the meeting about the relevance and importance of your work to the field. Include what you gained personally from the meeting and changes that you made to your research as a result.
