This module will expand and elaborate on Foulkes' main precepts of the group setting, dynamic administration, the matrix, resonance, mirroring, levels of communication, condensation, exchange, the role of the conductor, through examination of contemporary literature showing applications of these principles in pratice. This will range from consideration of unconscious processes in groups to holding and containment, projective processes, transfernece and impact of leadership style on group functioning.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Demonstrate an in depth understanding of the major approaches to group facilitation. 2. Acquire a knowledge of contemporary group analytic theory. 3. Critically reflect on the development of group analysis to the present.
