The law of evidence concerns the admission of proof in courts of law. This course examines the rules that govern this process. It also analyses the philosophical and practical considerations that underpin the rules on admissibility of evidence. The structure of the trial process and the manner in which evidence is presented are also important aspects of the law of evidence. This course examines the role of witnesses in the courtroom. It also assesses the influence of technology on the trial process.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this module students should be able to: assess the need for exclusionary rules within the law of evidence; outline the impact of constitutional rights on the admission of evidence and apply knowledge of evidentiary rules to problem based scenarios.
