At the end of this course students will be able to:
- translate selected passages from Sallust's Bellum Catilinae, thereby demonstrating a strong knowledge of Latin grammar, syntax and vocabulary
- analyse the work in the context of the Late Roman Republic
- evaluate the literary qualities of Bellum Catilinae and its influence on later Roman historians.
