This module introduces students to the World Wide Web. It examines how the basic tenets of markup language theory have influenced the development of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). The main focus of this module is the practical creation of web pages using HTML5 and CSS. The ability to create web pages is an essential skill for all graduates, particularly information professionals. The module workload will include one e-class a week, to be completed in the student's own time and submitted via Brightspace, plus one lecture per week. Assessment will include these classes plus a 2 hour exam.
