The purpose of this module is to ready students for the Graduate Research Project due at the end of the spring term. Within a group setting (in HIS41910) as well as one-to-one meetings, you will work towards identifying a viable research topic, primary source base, and core secondary works.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

This module which runs in conjunction with HIS41910 is aimed at supporting the development of the Graduate Diploma research project. At the end of this module, students will have:

i) identified a viable topic for the research project
ii) identified the principal primary source base required for the project
iii) identified the main secondary sources required to realise the project
iii) worked hands-on with some of those primary sources

and will have been given the opportunity to present an outline of the project to a seminar group
