Learning Outcomes:
Thematic specialisation: Armed Conflicts and Humanitarian Action
The specialisation deals with armed conflicts as a specific environment in which humanitarian assistance is provided. Its aim is to describe the character of contemporary armed conflicts and problems related to establishment and functioning of peace and stability operations. Students would also learn about different aspects of protection of civilians, including the question of effective prevention of mass atrocities as well as of different models of justice and reconciliation in post-conflict societies. This means that during the specialisation students would broaden their knowledge about International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights Law, International Criminal Law as well as Security Studies in general.
