This module will structure your progression on your dissertation work. Unlike other modules, there are limited formal lectures but you are required to work with your supervisor to ensure you are making consistent progress. As noted in the Masters module handbook, you are responsible for taking control of your research and organising meetings with your supervisor. There will be a number of introductory lectures in the early weeks of the term covering key skills development topics, but you will primarily be engaged in independent research. Engagement in the module consists of attending a small number of skills-development classes AND documented structured meetings with your supervisor.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this module, students should have:
1. Enhanced project management and time management skills, including developing a detailed project plan;
2. Developed more critical and analytical thinking and expression through high-level written and oral presentation skills;
3. Made significant conceptual and written progress on their dissertation.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This is a student-led module which requires active /task-based learning. Assessments require critical writing and reflective learning which facilitates the steady progress of their thesis dissertation.
