GDIC3021K Scientific Research Training

Academic Year 2024/2025

GDIC3021K-Scientific Research Training is delivered by Zhenlan Liu, SCAU module coordinator.

GDIC3021K-Scientific Research Training is designed for Stage 4 Students who are undertaking dual undergraduate degree programmes at Guangzhou-Dublin International College.

The Scientific Research Training course aims at cultivating innovative talents in biology. On the basis of mastering basic theoretical knowledge and basic experimental skills of biological science, students can exercise their practical ability in scientific research and cultivate their innovative spirit in scientific research by participating in or undertaking the scientific research projects of their tutors, so as to lay the foundation for future scientific research. Through the course study, students can use modern information technology to obtain biology-related literature and subject materials, understand the theoretical frontiers and application prospects of the discipline, have certain ability of experimental design, data analysis, summary report, academic communication and paper writing.

This course embodies the teaching concept of the integration of science and education. In the third or fourth semester, students enter the laboratory to carry out scientific research training, and can choose scientific research teams and mentors within the whole university according to their interests, and implement the "three-one project" (with a teacher, enter a laboratory, do a research project). On the one hand, students can greatly enhance the experimental ability and scientific research innovation ability through about 2 years of scientific research training; on the other hand, under the guidance of the tutor and the influence of the laboratory, we will strengthen the spiritual inspiration, academic guidance for students, and stimulate their academic interest and innovation potential.
