GDIC2017K Horticultural Crop Cultivation Experiments & Practice

Academic Year 2024/2025

Horticultural Crop Cultivation Experiment module is delivered by Kang Yunyan, SCAU module coordinator.

Experiment for Horticultural Crop Cultivation is designed for Stage 2 Students who are undertaking dual undergraduate degree programmes at Guangzhou-Dublin International College. The module is attached to Principles of Horticultural Crop Cultivation and specifically aims to strengthen students’ understandings of the principles in cultivation of horticultural crops, especially vegetables and fruits. Students develop various skills involved in horticultural crop management, such as identification of horticultural plants, grafting, air-layering, and observation of organ structure and development. Activities conducted in field or in laboratory will support the development of students’ academic study competences.

Materials for the module include self-compiled experiment handbook and Horticulture: Principle and Practices (George Acquaah, ed. Pearson Education, Upper Saddle River, 2009.).
