This course introduces the main capital markets and instruments. Individually the workings of these markets are presented. The main empirical modelling and associated evidence is outlined. The main pricing theories are critically outlined. Practical examples of the use of these assets are discussed throughout. Further we will document theoretical and empirical findings from the literature to develop the research skills and knowledge of students. We focus on the empirical techniques used most often in the analysis of financial markets and how they are applied to actual market data.
