This module will build upon Corporate Finance for Aviation Finance, developing in students some of the important skills and knowledge required to make strong financial decisions. Topics will include financial modelling, securitization and credit evaluation, amongst others.

The module will introduce students to the established methods of financing aircraft assets, from Bank to Debt Capital Markets, to EXIM/ECA financing and Sharia compliant Financings. It will cover all aspects of typical financings, from security requirements to financial terms.

In addition it will cover the financing of aircraft leasing businesses, from capital structure through (asset/liability matching) debt maturity management, dealing with treasury instruments and treasury aspects of aircraft and lease portfolio financing.

This module will be supported by guest lecturers from both the Aircraft Lessors and Financial Institutions providing and advising on debt financing from bank and public markets. A case study may also form part of the module.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

Students will develop their quantitative, problem solving and critical analysis skills. Moreover, upon completion of the module students will have deepended their understanding of financing sources and structures and of many of the functional financial aspects of the aviation finance and leasing business.
