elasticity; efficiency and equity; output and costs; perfect competition; monopoly; macro issues; measuring GDP; aggregate supply and aggregate demand; income
determination; fiscal and monetary policy

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Students will attend classes for this module and have the opportunity to engage in active learning during these sessions. Questions are highly encouraged. Because this is a distance module this is your opportunity to interact with the lecturer and make the most of your prior study.

The textbook for the class is Economics 6th edition by Mankiw & Taylor. Earlier editions are also usable. You should acquire this book and use it extensively throughout the course. You will be expected to have read the relevant chapters before each session is delivered. The study guide will provide notice of what chapters are relevant to each lecture.
