Within this module the students are introduced to the history and value of technical innovation and problem solving. The importance of multi-disciplinary teams and managing teams and projects is discussed. Using the innovation cycle and techniques to generate ideas, make observations, prototype ideas, refine and implement solutions is a key part of the module. Students develop their facilitation skills, conflict resolution skills, confidence and communication skills. They also develop their ability to assess the work of others and to provide and receive constructive feedback, facilitating active learning sessions with the Stage 1 students, encouraging students to actively pursue knowledge, tackling and solving problems.
