This module sets out a process for managing the formulation and execution of Strategy across a wide range of companies. As such it helps to underpin a greater understanding of lessons learnt in other modules examining the working of the firm and its environment. Starting out with developing a profound understanding of the competitive environment in which a form operates in, participants then move on to examine the effectiveness of the internal configuration of the firm.

Students will then be challenged to take an analytical look at what drives the competitive advantage of a firm. Through the use of the case study analysis, framework students will test the sustainability of a range of strategic options open to the firm. Key learnings will emerge through robust discourse that emerges in each teaching session. Each session will draw on a blend of rich theoretical and practical knowledge that will enable participants to apply their new found knowledge in the workplace.

Finally, students will come away from this module with a range of perspectives on the many challenges and possible solutions facing the firm in how to manage its ongoing strategic direction.
