The aim of this module is to raise awareness of and develop a range of skills pertinent to building energy and environmental performance and evaluation. Workshops will be provided on a range of topics to provide students an array of exploratory and investigative skills and techniques ranging from lab-based experimental methods to evaluation systems to modelling and analysis. Topics covered include building envelope performance, energy analysis, daylight and solar energy, building environmental assessment, post-occupancy evaluation, etc.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of building performance and evaluation processes and analysis.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant testing and evaluation methods.
- Exhibit an understanding of the appropriate application of a range of skills in the evalutaion of building performance and analysis.
