By the end of this module, participants will be able to:
• Prepare and deliver presentations at international conferences confidently and effectively.
• Craft clear and concise messages that capture the attention of a diverse audience.
• Use visual aids and presentation tools to enhance the clarity and impact of research presentations.
• Engage in academic discourse during conferences, actively participating in question-and-answer sessions.
• Demonstrate intercultural awareness and employ culturally-inclusive communication strategies during international conferences.
• Reflect on individual language and skills development, identifying areas for improvement, and identify research-informed solutions to targeted areas of difficulty.
Conference presentation genre analysis; language and communication strategies required for effectively communicating research to a diverse audience; conference presentation structure (coherence and cohesion); signposting language; design of visual aids; participating in a question-and-answer session, etc.
