"HRM XXXXS Present and Future of Work
This module examines the current landscape for the workplace and also what future developments which are likely regarding the management of staff. This module will look at some of the contemporary developments, including the Gig Economy, flexible work arrangements, remote working, the impact of technological developments, advances in analytics, and digital innovation, on the practice and theory of Human Resource Management. The nature of these developments are debated as we explore the emerging models and frameworks mobilized to understand how these concepts are and will continue to shape HRM practices and interactions with employees and other stakeholders. Students should expect to engage critically with evidence of these nascent developments and contribute actively to class discussions.
