- Analyse and apply corporate governance regulations to complex governance problems, arriving at practical & pragmatic conclusions (PG3).
- Apply legal and other regulatory principles of corporate governance relevant to boards of directors (PG1).
- Compose board of directors governance protocols / reports / briefings in a professional manner (PG2).
- Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of academic and professional writing on corporate governance (PG1)
- Display personal and professional attitudinal changes and an increase in critical thinking from reflecting on how corporate governance operates in a real-world situation and from exposure to practitioners (PG5).
- Engage in board role play by preparing and presenting to a board of directors (PG2).
- Engage in board role play by questioning, debating and challenging issues raised, modelled on a notional board of directors (PG2).
- Identify ethical and legal issues and possible decisions/outcomes by incorporating appropriate professional codes of conduct in business settings (PG4).

The Diploma in Corporate Governance provides directors, potential directors and those interested in governance with an accredited programme leading to a UCD qualification in corporate governance.
The Diploma in Corporate Governance programme content will incorporate debates on current challenges and developments in corporate governance. This will include analysis of real life case studies. The Diploma consists of four modules, comprising 12 courses as follows:
- Overview of corporate governance
- Regulatory Framework I
- Regulatory Framework II
- Directors' responsibilities
- Role of company boards/Behavioural aspects of boards
- Selection of non-executive directors
- Executive remuneration and incentives
- The annual report/The annual financial statements
- Role, function and responsibilities of audit committees
- Risk management and the role of the director
- Business strategy
